Rose is the main proprietress of this blog. She is 27 and working on her Ph.D. in musicology, where she focuses on film and television soundtracks, ’60s-’70s popular music, and opera (especially Wagnerian opera). Rose is the author of 33 1/3 Japan: Yoko Kanno’s Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack, due out November 2, 2017 from Bloomsbury Press. She is also a composer and freelance pop culture writer, and has contributed to Anime News Network, AutostraddleBitch Media and others.   1. Rose: I read your review about Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, and I loved how you gave it a musicological approach to it, using the real-life case of musical child prodigies. It really got to me, so you got a new reader in me now. I also studied musicology, although in my country rather than the USA, and I look forward to more of your articles.
